Attracted to co-worker - could he possibly feel the same?

I'm really into a guy I work with - we've been working together for a little over 2 months now. In this same time period my current boyfriend and I have broken up, and he knew I was of course, bummed and took the time to talk with me - as he had known about some of the problems we were having - and console me - to tell me that i deserved better and what not. He also compliments me repeatedly on little things such as my eyes - he always notices when i change the color of my contacts and tells me to just wear clear ones because my real eyes are "so pretty" he says.., has referred to me as "my (my name)" (keep in mind he has a really goofy/silly/fun personality), and gets protective of me in our office when other men are in my office or around - he just makes the effort to find a reason to walk past my office and glance in (and sometimes stop if he can tell im flustered...- we work in a setting where customers can get very short/angry at times), stops by my office to offer to share snacks when he has them (while passing up other females in our department) and so on...im a VERY shy person and from what i can tell, he is fairly shy as well but has VERY "gentlemanly like" qualities"\ - im just wondering if he could possibly interested as i am? or if he is just being his caring self?....also, I've tried texting him a couple times and he always answers me and answers with more than a "yes" or "no", but our conversations dont seem to go any further - yesterday i could not control my smiles in front of him and i finally saw him break a huge smile while talking to me as well..please help!
