How to take pink tint out of hilighted hair?

My sister dyed her hair a dark red/brown about a week ago. She then proceeded to try to get some blond chunky highlights. Well, that didn't come out so well, it turned her hair pink.. How can I get the pink out of her highlights without damaging it any more than it already is? If I put a blond toner on it will it cover up the pink? Please help....
